about

‘Moths To A Flame’
Same story, different woman. I wrote the lyrics to this back in the early 1990s. I guess the moral of the story is two wrongs don’ make a right. By this stage in my life, I was a bit more mature and was quite willing to own up to my shortcomings (but still quite happy to chronicle those of the uh, protagonist, of the story) and accepting of the reality that mutual love and attraction does not ensure lasting happiness. One flame two sets of scorched wings. Again, the piano bass, and drums were from the initial recording over in Brunswick. The guitars, vocals, and horns were overdubbed at my home studio by myself, and the horns were caught during the break between lockdowns with Levi Dowsett engineering.
This song was written with my resonator.

Steve Lucas has had a wide and varied career. Starting out in 1977, Steve was one of the founding members of the seminal Australian punk bands X.
X's bloodied history has been well known so we'll skip that here.
Steve also fronted Bigger Than Jesus, Double Cross and The Groody Frenzy. All very successful in their own right.
His latest release Change Poison, Make Medicine is now available online.
